This role is responsible for supervising machinists and production personnel while ensuring operational excellence across: CNC machining operations, Production scheduling, Setup optimization, Quality performance, Safety compliance, Workforce leadership, Continuous improvement, Manufacturing execution The ideal candidate will bring strong aerospace machining expertise, hands-on machine shop knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to improve machining efficiency, production throughput, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Lead daily CNC and manual machining operations across aerospace production cells Supervise machinists, CNC operators, setup technicians, and machine shop personnel Optimize machine utilization, setup efficiency, tooling strategies, and production workflows Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and production issues to minimize downtime Review and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, machining routings, and technical specifications Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, SMED, and process improvement projects Ensure compliance with AS9100, aerospace quality standards, PPE, EHS, and safety requirements Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Production Control teams to support operational goals Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree required in one of the following: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Operations Management or Related technical discipline Required Qualifications 10+ years of CNC/manual machining experience with complex precision-machined components. 3-5+ years of machine shop supervisory or production leadership experience in aerospace or CNC manufacturing environments. Aerospace, aviation, defense, precision machining, or high-reliability manufacturing experience required. Strong hands-on experience with CNC machining, CNC milling, CNC turning, multi-axis machining, setups, troubleshooting, and machining operations. Proven experience leading machinists, CNC operators, setup technicians, and manufacturing teams. Strong leadership skills in workforce management, production scheduling, staffing, coaching, mentoring, and accountability. Experience collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering and CNC programmers on process improvements and manufacturability enhancements. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Parker Lean System (PLS), 5S, Kaizen, SMED, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience driving setup reduction, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, throughput improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives. Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and problem-solving methodologies. Experience managing production workflows, labor utilization, tooling inventories, WIP, and manufacturing schedules. ERP/SAP, production reporting, shop floor systems, and manufacturing documentation experience preferred.Ability to monitor and improve:
