  • $70,000 /yr Posted May 15, 2026 Production Supervisor Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in a food manufacturing environment.
The Production Supervisor will ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production output while maintaining quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role combines team leadership with practical knowledge of food safety, Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles to drive operational excellence and meet production targets. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate production activities across assigned shifts, ensuring schedules and targets are met while maintaining product quality and safety. Lead, coach, and develop production team members; manage staffing, shift assignments, and performance feedback to build a high-performing team. Monitor production metrics (OEE, yield, downtime, throughput) and produce timely reports; take corrective action to meet KPIs. Implement and maintain food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance programs (HACCP, GMPs, SQF/ BRC where applicable). Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools (5S, Kaizen, DMAIC) to reduce waste, improve flow, and increase productivity. Coordinate equipment setup, changeovers, and preventative maintenance with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime. Ensure accurate production documentation, batch records, and traceability following company policies and regulatory requirements. Investigate and resolve production issues, non-conformances, and customer quality concerns; implement corrective and preventive actions. Manage inventory of packaging and production materials on the line; collaborate with planning to optimize material flow and reduce shortages. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability by conducting regular safety meetings, audits, and training sessions. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Food Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent technical diploma with experience. 3+ years experience in a leadership role within food manufacturing or a related processing environment. Practical knowledge of food safety systems and regulatory standards (HACCP, GMPs); experience with SQF, BRC, or
FSSC 22000
is a plus. Demonstrated experience applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and reduce waste. Strong problem-solving skills with experience using data-driven approaches (root cause analysis, DMAIC) to resolve production issues. Excellent people leadership skills with experience in coaching, performance management, and building collaborative teams. Familiarity with production equipment, changeovers, preventive maintenance, and production planning. Proficiency with production reporting systems and standard business software (MS Excel, MRP/ERP systems). Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and workplace safety. Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts as required for production coverage. Benefits
