Shift Sheetmetal Dept Supervisor Sheet Metal Fabrication Supervisor:
Our Client is seeking an experienced 2nd shift Supervisor (Sheet Metal Fabrication) to lead day-to-day shop floor operations and oversee a team of fabrication professionals. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, maintaining high quality standards, and driving productivity to meet operational goals. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support shop floor personnel in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all workplace safety procedures Ensure adherence to quality standards and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions when issues arise Manage daily production schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to achieve on-time delivery, quality, and productivity targets Support new product introductions, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives Oversee employee scheduling, training, performance development, and cross-training efforts Forecast departmental staffing, equipment, and capacity needs; assist with hiring and workforce planning Lead and sustain lean manufacturing initiatives, including workflow optimization and workplace organization (5S) Qualifications Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment required Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and shop floor operations Experience with ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP or similar platforms) preferred Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive accountability in a fast-paced production environment
