The 2nd shift currently operates 12 pm et to 9 pm et Monday through Friday, subject to change.
Position Summary:
​​The Naugatuck Plant Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the Naugatuck Plant operates in a safe manner, produces quality materials, meets production demand, and meets all regulatory and customer requirements. This role directly manages operators and lead operators, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety/environmental regulations. The Supervisor is the frontline leader, accountable for maintaining discipline, developing operators, and ensuring smooth communication between shifts and with management. ​ Responsibilities / Job Functions ​​Oversight of shift day-to-day operations ​Supervision of lead operators and operators. ​Train and mentor operators that are under their supervision ​Evaluates operator performance and provides feedback ​Meet production demand by executing the production schedule. ​Operate the ERP system to manage day to day production. ​Foster a culture of disciplined operations and strict adherence to all SOPs, policies, and regulations. ​Ensure operators follow batch records, SOPs, and quality requirements consistently. ​Assists in the development of safety, quality, operating, and inventory procedures and instructions. ​Performs plant operations, in-process testing and maintenance activities as required. ​Contributes to the maintenance of P2's Quality Management Systems in daily activities. ​Ensures that all under their supervision are following the ISO/FSSC/EfFCI GMP Quality Management System ​Ensures customer requirements are met at all times. Safety Responsibilities ​​Champion safety on the plant floor; ensure team adherence to all safety procedures, policies, and regulations. ​Identify, report, and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately. ​Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation. ​Report Incidents, Near-Misses, and perform daily plant walk downs to ensure safe work practices are being followed. ​Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. ​ Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ​​Hands on experience as an operator and/or lead operator in the chemical manufacturing sector. ​Leadership with the ability to motivate and guide frontline operators. ​Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to enforce rules firmly and fairly. ​Strong Technical Aptitude. ​Ability to work flexible schedule and off shifts as required. ​General knowledge of plant process and chemical unit operations. ​General knowledge of safety regulations, safe work practices and handling of hazardous materials. ​Trustworthy high integrity individual who can work well in a team environment. ​Physical Demands ​​Position is considered "heavy work", defined as exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. ​Must be medically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment including respirators which will require a clean-shaven face for suitable fit under the OSHA regulations. ​Capable of operating a forklift. Education and Experience ​​Minimum Education High School Graduate or GED Equivalent ​5-10 years in the chemical industry as an operator and/or lead operator​ P2 Science is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
