Job Description
Key Responsibilities Supervision and Team Leadership:
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production team members across four assembly cells. Foster a safe, organized, and high-quality work environment, enforcing all company policies and safety regulations. Conduct employee training, provide insight into performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.Production Oversight:
Ensure all assembled products meet quality standards and production schedules. Possess a thorough knowledge of the mechanical assembly process and associated hand and power tools. Read, interpret, and ensure accurate execution of Bills of Material (BOMs), job routings, and all required job paperwork. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain) to resolve production issues.Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing:
Champion the principles of continuous improvement, 5S, and Kaizen within the assembly areas. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs. Provide input on cell layouts, equipment positioning, and tool usage to enhance continuous flow throughout the assembly process.Problem-Solving:
Utilize good problem-solving abilities to quickly address production bottlenecks, quality defects, and equipment malfunctions. Analyze data related to production performance and implement corrective actions.Requirements Education:
Associate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent work experience. Lean Manufacturing Certification is highly desirable.Experience:
3-5 years of progressive experience in an assembly supervisory role within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated hands-on experience and expertise in mechanical assembly.Skills & Knowledge:
Expert understanding of production documentation, including BOMs and job routings. Proficiency with all tools and equipment related to mechanical assembly. Strong knowledge of lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement). Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
