Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION A
growing structural steel contractor is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Superintendent to oversee a high-profile commercial/industrial project in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This position will lead field operations for structural steel erection activities on a large-scale project requiring strong coordination, safety leadership, and scheduling expertise. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and expanding steel erector working on complex, fast-paced projects in one of the most active construction markets in the country.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily field operations for structural steel erection activities Oversee schedules, manpower, subcontractors, equipment, cranes, and site logistics Coordinate with project managers, clients, inspectors, and field crews Lead structural steel erection activities from mobilization through project completion Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget Conduct safety meetings and maintain OSHA compliance standards Review drawings, RFIs, specifications, erection plans, and project documents Utilize Bluebeam Revu for plan review and coordination Track production, progress reports, and field documentation Coordinate inspections, deliveries, crane picks, and erection sequencing Maintain quality control and enforce project safety requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Superintendent or Lead Superintendent Experience with large commercial, industrial, aerospace, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, rigging, and crane coordination Current OSHA 30 Certification required Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu preferred Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage fast-paced projects with aggressive schedules Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and field crews
