Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and empathetic Post Production Supervisor to oversee the post-production workflow for our upcoming educational documentary, Custody. This film explores the painful realities children face during high-conflict custody battles, shedding light on the nuances of parental alienation through expert interviews, family testimonies, and legal analysis. The ideal candidate will be the bridge between the editorial team, sound designers, colorists, and delivery platforms. You will be responsible for keeping the project on schedule, within budget, and ensuring the technical quality of the final master meets educational distribution standards. Because of the sensitive nature of the footage and subject matter, a high level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional maturity is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and manage the post-production schedule, ensuring all milestones (rough cuts, fine cuts, picture lock) are met. Coordinate communication and asset delivery between editors, sound editors/mixers, colorists, and composers. Manage the post-production budget, tracking costs for licensing (archival footage, music), mastering, and deliverables. Oversee quality control (QC) for all final deliverables, ensuring compliance with broadcast, streaming, and educational distribution specifications. Skills Proven Experience:
You've worked as a Post Production Supervisor, preferably in feature-length documentaries or high-end educational content, or are highly organized.
Project Management:
Exceptional organizational skills, with a track record of keeping independent film projects on time and on budget.
Communication:
Strong leadership and collaborative skills to effectively manage a remote or hybrid creative team.
