E-ONE manufactures custom and commercial fire trucks including pumpers and tankers, aerial ladders and platforms, rescues of all sizes, quick attack units, industrial trucks, and ARFF (aircraft rescue firefighting vehicles).

SCOPE:
A Team Leader guides a group of employees toward achieving organizational goals, acting as the bridge between senior management and team members. They focus on team development and training, task assignments, resolving conflicts, providing day-to-day operational support, and mentoring staff to improve overall productivity and morale. This will include using lean tools such as Visual Management, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Work, etc. This position will also monitor and improve processes, apply technical skills as needed, and provide recommendations to the Production Supervisor in support of his/her team if additional manpower is needed in the area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Goal Setting & Execution:
Translate broader company goals into actionable daily tasks, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and adjust strategies to stay on track. Thorough understanding of the t ask playbooks and takt time requirements to assist the supervisor in the direction and planning of activities required to index the product complete into the next cell.
Delegation:
Assign tasks based on team members' individual strengths, expertise, and development goals. Frequently monitors the productivity of cell(s) making sure tasks are being completed to meet the takt time requirement. Provides assistance in the form of technical or hands on labor to keep / catch up the work to meet scheduled index time.
Coaching & Mentorship:
Identify skill gaps, provide ongoing training, and conduct one-on-one meetings to foster professional growth. Participate in yearly and mid-year performance reviews and identify growth path for team members. Assists the Production Supervisor with training program development and maintenance, and orientation of new and transferred team members into the department.
Performance Tracking:
Monitor team efficiency, Observes and reports to the supervisor the status of each cell's performance to required takt time.
This includes:
if the product is indexed to the next cell, if it was complete, and if not how many minutes behind. Communicates to the Production Supervisor any variance in planned manpower hours required versus actual hours applied through playbook audits.
Problem Solving and Resolution:
Act as a buffer for the team, address minor operational roadblocks, mediate workplace conflicts swiftly and escalate items and issues that require assistance immediately. Works from shop orders, playbooks, red books, change orders, technical specifications, manuals, schematics, prints and instructions, and all other order-related documents.
Effective Communication:
Act as the primary liaison between the team and leadership, providing regular, concise project status updates and escalating roadblocks in a timely manner. Facilitate clear communication across the team by translating high-level goals into actionable tasks and ensuring daily alignment. Cultivate a positive, open-door team environment that encourages transparent feedback, active listening, and seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Follows all applicable Standard Work. This may include activities such as complete required documentation which may include but not be limited to playbooks, visual management, red books, training materials, etc.; Conduct start-up meetings in Production Supervisor's absence.
Works with Production Supervisor and at times other departments, to identify and resolve issues. May track down tools, materials, and information as required to assist other employees to achieve work objectives. Initiate long aids to eliminate root causes of issues.
Reports directly to the Production Supervisor
Champions and coordinates Continuous Improvement activities for work areas.
Responsible for 5S and overall cleanliness of assigned work areas.
Perform other Tech level duties as required!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong communication: Ability to clearly communicate expectations and effectively summarize status and issues to drive execution and support of priorities
Time Management:
Exceptional organizational skills to juggle administrative duties, operational flows, and team needs simultaneously.
Motivated:
Demonstrated behavior of high-quality work, high productivity, and action oriented.
Flexible:
Demonstrated ability to adjust to shifting priorities while keeping a positive attitude.
General computer skills required, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
Must have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred
Must meet all requirements of Level II or III in a skill set
