What You'll Do:
As a Production Foreman, you are responsible for supervising daily operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring that production targets, safety protocols, and quality standards are consistently met. This hands-on leadership role coordinates team activities, resolves operational issues, and facilitates communication between departments to maintain an efficient and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate activities of production workers, including assigning tasks and monitoring output. Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are achieved. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by enforcing company policies and procedures. Monitor equipment and machinery; coordinate maintenance or repairs with the maintenance team. Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime. Train and mentor new and existing staff on standard operating procedures and safety protocols. Monitor raw material usage and inventory to prevent shortages or overuse. Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and incident logs. Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth workflow. Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices. Active participation and support of the plant safety program is required. Regular attendance required. Assist in other departments as needed and perform any other duties assigned.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or associate degree preferred. 2 years of experience required in a manufacturing environment. Must pass Basic Skills Assessment. Strong understanding of production processes, safety standards, and quality control. Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and production schedules. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient with basic computer applications (MS Office, ERP or MES systems). Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and lead by example.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk continuously on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per shift. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching to observe operations and interact with production staff or equipment. Occasional lifting and carrying of tools, materials, or products weighing up to 50 lbs. Use of hands and fingers to operate touchscreens, radios, handheld devices, or write reports. Must be able to visually inspect products, materials, and machinery for quality and safety compliance. Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders to access elevated platforms or mezzanines. Ability to respond quickly to alarms or equipment issues and navigate around machinery or obstacles safely. Exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, or other production equipment. Work in variable temperatures depending on the season and building. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, or chemicals depending on the production process.
