We are looking for a technically skilled 2nd Shift Supervisor with experience in the automotive sector for our production facility in Augusta. In the role of Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating employees in the areas of heat treatment, machining, assembly, and passivation. Organisation of the employees in the departments heat treatment, machining, assembly, and passivation Maintain department schedules to include working, vacation and holiday hours. Tracking of Development of the employees. Monitor product quality and compliance with company standards. Promote LEAN quality principles by identifying sources of variation, reducing defects and rework, and supporting root cause analysis. Ensure adherence to standardized work and corrective/preventive actions to maintain compliance with internal standards, automotive quality requirements, and safety regulations. Troubleshoot operational issues and support problem resolution. Provide technical and operational leadership in diagnosing and resolving equipment, process, and workflow issues across heat treatment, machining, assembly, and passivation areas. Apply engineering problem-solving methods and LEAN tools such asPDCA, A3
problem solving, and root cause analysis to minimize downtime, scrap, and inefficiencies. Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to implement sustainable countermeasures, optimize process stability, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, and cost performance. Monitor and Tracking of the KPIs. Monitor, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators, including OEE, scrap rate, downtime, yield, and productivity to ensure operational targets are met. Use data-driven decision-making to identify performance gaps, support engineering-driven improvements, and prioritize LEAN initiatives such as waste elimination, flow optimization, and standard work adherence. Position Requirements High School Diploma or GED; Specialized course or Associate's degree preferred 3+ years' relevant experience in a shift lead role; Experience in heat treat, machining & assembly automotive preferred Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience preferred Available for 2nd shiftSimilar remote jobs
