Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Production Manager to lead and oversee production operations in our fast-paced contract packaging facility. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality assurance standards, with a strong focus on delivering efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality packaging solutions across multiple client accounts.Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of production, including scheduling, staffing, process optimization, and output to meet customer deadlines and quality expectations. Supervise and develop production supervisors, line leads, and frontline staff to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Implement and drive lean manufacturing initiatives, reduce waste, and improve efficiency across production lines. Identify and recommend changes within automated production lines. Ensure all production complies with internal SOPs, client specifications, and regulatory standards (e.g.FDA, GMP, ISO
if applicable). Monitor equipment utilization and labor capacity to ensure optimal resource allocation. Recommend and implement upgrades or changes as needed. Manage production budgets, control labor and material costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Enforce a safe working environment through proactive training, audits, and adherence to OSHA and internal safety protocols. Analyze production data, prepare performance reports, and present KPIs to executive leadership.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field experience. 3+ years of production management Strong understanding of contract packaging operations, including high-speed packaging lines, assembly, rework, and fulfillment processes. Proven track record in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teams in a dynamic setting. Familiarity with regulatory environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach. Knowledge of production planning and quality control processes.Work Environment:
The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery. The job requires lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds as well as reaching, standing, sitting, and walking. This job may require working extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer requirements. Compliance to GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) for food safety. Compliance to PPE's (Personal Protective Equipment) for safety compliance.Benefits:
