About the
Role:
The Manager (Production) plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the entire manufacturing process to ensure efficient, high-quality production output that meets company standards and customer expectations. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing operations, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Manager will lead and develop production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments such as quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering to drive process improvements and resolve production challenges. Ultimately, this role ensures that production goals are met on time, within budget, and aligned with the strategic objectives of the manufacturing organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of production processes, manufacturing equipment, and quality control standards. Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field or MBA. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in production management software and ERP systems. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale production facilities or complex manufacturing projects. Certifications such as Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize manufacturing efficiency. Manage daily production activities, including workforce allocation, equipment maintenance, and quality control. Lead, mentor, and evaluate production staff to enhance team performance and professional growth. Monitor production metrics and analyze data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production area. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Coordinate with quality assurance to maintain product standards and address any quality issues promptly. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and other best practices. Prepare and present production reports to senior management, highlighting performance, challenges, and opportunities.
