Job Description

Overview Dubuque Window & Door Co. is looking for an energetic and positive person to plan and direct production activities and establish production prorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors while managing all shop projects from beginning to end.

Also responsible for continuously improving safety, quality, and productivity of the shop to increase the efficiency & effectiveness of resources. Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for proper maintenance of plant and production facilities, including a preventative maintenance program. Meet with the Shop Coordinator/Drafter to discuss new projects to get the details and schedule of project. Facilitate the continuous improvement profitability, work flow, quality, etc. Review work orders to make sure they are properly completed before it is placed on the production floor. Make sure we have the correct information from the customer before and throughout production of the project. Responsible to keep everyone in the shop efficiently and effectively working on projects. Organize work flow according to production schedules. Get supplies when needed, haul loads, unload lumber, load product for customers, keep track of inventory, schedule jobs through shop, track vacation days, and ensure dust collector is unloaded. Prepare work orders and gather as much information before sending work to the shop floor to minimize time spent on shop floor. Keep shop organized and clean. Recommend new equipment purchases through cost verification. Make sure all projects are completed by due date. Manage all shop processes in project to ensure project is finished within customer expectations and generates revenue to give us the ability to run and grow the business profitably.. This role is responsible for planning and directing production activities, setting priorities, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively, on time, and within customer expectations.
