The Opportunity We are seeking a Repair Supervisor - 3rd Shift to lead and coordinate railcar repair, cleaning, blasting, valve, coating, and preparation activities. This role is responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all quality, customer, and regulatory requirements. The Repair Supervisor leads approximately 15 hourly employees, drives daily execution, and plays a key role in continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. What You'll Do Coach, mentor, motivate, and lead hourly employees across all repair and prep activities Ensure safe working habits and conditions through ongoing training, audits, and reviews Enforce compliance with OSHA, AAR, FRA, company, and customer safety and quality standards Participate in and support internal, external, and customer audits Direct daily work assignments, maintain job cards, and monitor railcars in process Lead daily production activities and participate in production meetings, providing status updates Partner with Materials Management to monitor inventory levels and prevent excess or waste Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of employees Document and administer corrective discipline when necessary Review production metrics, work-in-process (WIP), and throughput to meet operational targets Make recommendations to Repair and Area Management to drive continuous improvement Maintain visual management tools, 5S standards, and production boards Build strong working relationships across departments and with customersWhat You Bring:
Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 3-5+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or rail environment Strong working knowledge of railcar repair, inspection, cleaning, or preparation processes Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, weld symbols, and NDT symbols Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and think critically in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field 5+ years of supervisory experience in railcar inspection, repair, or heavy manufacturing Experience driving safety, quality, and productivity improvements Familiarity with continuous improvement, KPIs, and production reporting systems Working Environment & Physical Requirements Work performed in an industrial railcar repair environment Exposure to outdoor conditions, heat, cold, noise, and moving equipment Use of required PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and respirator when necessary Physical activity including walking, climbing, balancing, lifting, and working in confined spaces Ability to stand and move throughout the majority of the workday What We Offer Transco strives to be an Employer of Choice.Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
