Job Description

Do you thrive in a growth-oriented environment with a high-performing team? AHF Products is seeking a Storeroom Supervisor for our vinyl flooring plant in Kankakee, IL. This role is responsible for leading storeroom operations, optimizing inventory management practices, and ensuring maintenance materials and supplies are available to support uninterrupted plant operations. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Salary:
$75,000 - $85,000 ________________________________________
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation: Key Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the Maintenance Storeroom to ensure efficient inventory management and material availability. Lead, train, and develop Storeroom Attendants responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking, issuing, shipping, and processing RMA components. Establish, implement, and maintain storeroom policies, procedures, and inventory control standards. Manage MRO inventory levels, including minimum stock quantities, economic order quantities, obsolete inventory disposition, and inventory optimization initiatives. Source, expedite, and procure critical repair parts, materials, and supplies while identifying cost-effective alternatives when necessary. Maintain accurate purchasing, receiving, and inventory transactions within SAP/ERP systems. Coordinate with maintenance planning and scheduling teams to ensure materials are available and properly kitted for planned maintenance activities. Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams to support operational goals. Oversee storeroom organization, layout, and material storage practices to maximize accessibility, efficiency, and product preservation. Process purchase orders, receiving reports, invoices, and returned goods in a timely manner to support uninterrupted operations. Promote and maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures while fostering a zero-injury safety culture. Identify, address, and escalate workplace safety concerns as appropriate. Support continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, root cause analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to achieve departmental and operational objectives. Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of inventory management systems and purchasing strategies. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. ________________________________________
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of power tools, hand tools, drill presses, and shop equipment. Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and install bearings, seals, gaskets, conveyors, belts, gearboxes, sprockets/chains, and related mechanical components. Basic plumbing and piping repair experience preferred. Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and technical documents. Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while effectively communicating project status updates. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years of parts room experience in a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse environment. Knowledge of MRP systems and inventory control methodologies. Proven mechanical and electrical aptitude. Experience working within an industrial maintenance environment preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred, including training and mentoring team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and knowledge of 5S principles. Experience working with vendors and suppliers. Forklift experience preferred. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments. Ability to work flexible schedules, including off-hours and weekends as needed. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Positive and verifiable work history. Ability to successfully complete a background check, employment verification, and drug screening. Must comply with all PPE and workplace safety requirements. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all organizational levels.
