Overall Mission / Responsibility The Powder Coating Production Supervisor is responsible for production shift operations and for ensuring maximum productivity. Key Responsibilities / Tasks Production and Equipment Operation Lean Manufacturing Management Liaise with lean manufacturing consultants and assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives Evaluate lean manufacturing initiative effectiveness Promote and reinforce lean manufacturing Make recommendations for process improvements Health and Safety Management Supervise and reinforce the correct and proper use of PPE and equipment Conduct health & safety audits Liaise with health & safety consultants Conduct accident investigations Promote and reinforce 7S Production Operations Co-ordinate with the Process Engineer all production operation efforts Co-ordinate with the Maintenance Manager all TPM/Maintenance issues Assist factory manager plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of the production department Determine adequacy of personnel, equipment, and technologies used for operations Equipment Operation Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems, and methods of work Control and monitor the production and usage of PPL-Bag House Powder Ensure Mix Sheets are prepared in advance Determine the type of cleaning required for the machine and oversee the cleaning process from beginning to end Ensure a smooth shift transition at the beginning and end of shift Quality, Inspection and Testing Oversee the entire panel sampling process Assist in the verification and correction of the quality of product runs (Drylac and/or Metallic) Utilize quality testing equipment to verify and make corrections as needed Conduct interviews for new employees Co-ordinate onboarding Provide ongoing learning & development opportunities for production employees and supervisors/team leads Personally coach and mentor production employees and supervisors/team leads Manage performance of production employees and supervisors/team leads Provide recognition to production employees and supervisors/team leads Provide timely communication Provide employee relations services Implement People & Culture requirements Support the Full Responsibility and Advice Process and drive it through the organization People Leadership Co-ordinate training of all production employees with the Production Training Manager Administrative Services Complete all required paperwork Collect and review all closing order information Conduct scheduled KPI reporting Accurate process data reporting Other / additional responsibilities Drive Full Responsibility and Advice Process throughout the Organization Regular, predictable, and flexible on-site attendance is an essential function of the job Follow and Live Liberating Organism (LO) strategies and principles. Follow the requirements for ISO 14001 and 9001 systems Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Post-secondary training in LEAN management or production skills enhancement an asset. Minimum 2 years in manufacturing and production Powder coating experience preferred LEAN environment preferred Multi-cultural environment preferred Skills & Competencies English (Read, Write, and Speak) MS all and SAP preferred Extruder, mill and mixing operating experience preferred Basic knowledge of production processes Basic computer-controlled machinery experience preferred Basic understanding of maintenance, safety and quality principles an asset.
