Job Description
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the hourly union maintenance workforce in support of safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. This position oversees preventive maintenance programs, equipment repairs, tooling support, facility maintenance activities, contractor management, and workforce scheduling while ensuring compliance with safety, labor, and company policies. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Tooling, and Operations leadership to support CNC machining, assembly, and precision manufacturing operations that produce engineered motion control linkage products. This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, maintaining facility infrastructure, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Workforce Management Directly supervise, coach, and develop hourly union maintenance employees. Administer and interpret the collective bargaining agreement consistently and fairly. Manage employee performance, attendance, discipline, training, and development. Coordinate staffing, overtime, and work assignments to support production requirements. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Participate in labor-management discussions and assist with grievance resolution as needed. Maintain departmental records including timekeeping, training, and performance documentation. Maintenance Operations Plan, prioritize, and coordinate corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities. Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns and operational issues. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment reliability and uptime. Track maintenance metrics including downtime, PM completion rates, maintenance costs, and equipment reliability. Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. Facility & Infrastructure Oversee maintenance of building systems and facility infrastructure including: Electrical distribution systems HVAC systems Compressed air systems Plumbing systems Lighting systems Fire protection systems Building structures and grounds Coordinate outside contractors, vendors, and service providers. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and safe work practices. Promote safe work practices and maintenance Conduct safety observations, investigations, and corrective actions. Continuous Improvement Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on equipment improvements and reliability initiatives. Support installation, startup, and validation of new equipment and capital projects. Identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices, equipment performance, and operating costs. $88,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
