Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Comp:
$95,000-$110,000
Location:
Portland, IN Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor direct hire position. This individual will play a key role in leading manufacturing engineering initiatives focused on CNC machining, process optimization, automation, continuous improvement, and plant growth while providing leadership to engineering and manufacturing personnel.
Responsibilities:
Provide advanced manufacturing engineering support to maintain and improve production performance across the facility Lead automation, process improvement, and scalability initiatives supporting continued company growth Manage capital projects and manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation Conduct root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions for plant-wide manufacturing issues Design tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids utilizing CAD software Support CNC machining operations, troubleshooting, setup issues, and programming activities when needed Collaborate with engineering and production teams regarding product design, tooling requirements, and manufacturability improvements Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction Perform time studies, capacity analysis, workflow optimization, and cost savings projects Create, monitor, and enforce manufacturing KPIs and operational performance metrics Analyze manufacturing process flows and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements Support internal audits, reporting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and development of manufacturing personnel Partner with tooling, programming, engineering, and production teams to drive operational excellence Serve as a technical leader within a machine shop environment undergoing modernization and expansion Required Skills (Must Have): Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field (Mechanical Engineering preferred) 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within a machining or machine shop environment CNC programming experience involving mills and lathes Experience utilizing CAM software and working with G-Code programming concepts Supervisory, leadership, or direct people management experience Proven project management experience leading projects from concept through completion Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions Experience conducting time studies, process improvement, and cost reduction initiatives CAD experience related to tooling, fixture, or manufacturing equipment design Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Experience with PLC programming platforms such as Allen Bradley or Siemens Industrial networking and automation system experience Experience supporting high-growth manufacturing environments ERP system experience, preferably Epicor Job shop manufacturing experience Lean Manufacturing leadership experience Advanced tooling and fixture design experience Experience implementing automation projects within machining operations #ENG123
