Jun 11, 2026 Comfort Systems has an opportunity for an experienced Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman to join our team in Wichita, KS.
Position Summary :
The Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman is responsible for leading field installation crews and overseeing commercial HVAC construction projects from start to finish. This position focuses on the installation of sheet metal ductwork, HVAC equipment, and related systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to specifications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong commercial HVAC construction experience who can effectively coordinate crews, manage jobsite activities, interpret blueprints, and maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and supervise commercial HVAC installation crews on construction projects Coordinate daily jobsite activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget Install, oversee, and inspect sheet metal ductwork and HVAC equipment installations Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, submittals, and construction documents Plan labor requirements and assign work to field personnel Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades Ensure all work is completed according to company standards, project specifications, and local codes Identify and resolve installation issues, field conflicts, and construction challenges Conduct quality inspections and verify proper system installation Maintain accurate project documentation, including labor hours, materials, and progress updates Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures Mentor and develop junior installers and sheet metal mechanics
Qualifications Required:
5+ years of commercial HVAC construction and sheet metal installation experience Experience leading installation crews or serving as a foreman on commercial projects Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and sheet metal ductwork installation Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check
Preferred:
Journeyman HVAC or Sheet Metal License Experience with large commercial construction projects Experience coordinating multiple crews or subcontractors OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification Mechanical contractor or supervisory experience
