Powder Coating Supervisor - Shelbyville, KY Full-Time / 4 Day Work Week / Competitive Pay & Benefits /
Leadership Opportunity About Us:
Superb IPC is a privately held, leader in precision coating and finishing solutions. We run a high-volume, process-controlled, powder coating operation with two paint lines and a skilled team dedicated to delivering top-quality results for our customers. We value teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement — and we're looking for a hands-on leader to join our Shelbyville team.
The Role:
We're seeking a hands-on technical leader who thrives on working with people and driving daily operational excellence in our powder coating department. You don't have to be a powder coating expert on day one, but you must be comfortable learning new technical skills, managing a team, and solving problems, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll manage approximately 30 production employees, including 4-5 team leads, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the operation, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations. Monitor operation to assure daily schedule is met. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Ability to have difficult personnel conversations when needed, including corrective action and performance improvement. Embrace a multi-cultural workforce. Monitor the powder coating process to ensure high-quality finishes. Implement corrective actions for any quality issues. Ensure work instructions are being followed. Perform regular process audits to ensure compliance with safety and production procedures. Oversee the setup and operation of powder coating equipment. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment, per PM schedules. Optimize processes to improve efficiency and prevent waste. Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards. Conduct safety training and regular safety audits. Collaborate with other departments (scheduling, maintenance, quality) to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with team members and management.
It's Great If You Have:
Supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing (preferred, not required). Mechanical or technical troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and organizational skills. A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Why Join Us:
Competitive pay with opportunities for advancement. Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off). A supportive, team-oriented work environment. Chance to learn a valuable technical trade while leading a skilled crew. Day shift position, standard 4-day work week (occasional Friday operation as necessary)
