Production Group Lead Location:
Bedford, Pennsylvania Type:

Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and machine safety checks. Perform and document required safety inspections on production equipment and related machinery. Review operator safety inspections and ensure compliance with all safety standards. Promote and maintain a safety-first culture throughout the department. Participate in and support quality audits, safety audits, and compliance initiatives. Lead, train, schedule, direct, and monitor daily activities within the Brazing and Machining departments. Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Management, vendors, and production personnel to resolve operational issues and improve processes. Monitor production orders to ensure efficient workflow, product quality, and on-time completion. Troubleshoot and resolve production, equipment, and process-related challenges. Maintain accurate production records and documentation. Perform additional duties as required to support departmental objectives. Inspect components and finished products to ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer specifications. Ensure team members consistently follow established quality procedures and inspection requirements. Process and prioritize shop orders to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Monitor workflow and resource allocation to support on-time order fulfillment. Track material usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency. Monitor equipment utilization to support cost-reduction initiatives. Manage work-in-process (WIP) inventory and component inventories. Perform and oversee cycle count activities to maintain inventory accuracy. Support and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency. Implement and sustain continuous improvement practices within daily operations. Perform and ensure completion of daily Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities on assigned equipment. Maintain 5S standards and ensure workplace organization and cleanliness throughout the department. Collect, track, and post departmental performance metrics. Ensure accurate and timely entry of production, quality, inventory, and operational data into SAP and other required systems. Utilize data to monitor performance and support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. At least 3 years of leadership experience within Brazing and/or Machining operations, preferably in a Team Lead capacity. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with managers, supervisors, team members, and cross-functional departments. Valid forklift certification required. Proficiency with computer systems; experience with Microsoft Office applications and SAP is preferred. Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities. First Aid and First Responder training required or willingness to obtain certification
