We are seeking a Sausage Production Supervisor to act as the on-floor leader for our daily production activities. In this role, you will oversee teams across Mix & Grind, Stuffing, Packing, and Packaging to ensure we meet daily workflow schedules, maintain strict quality control, and uphold food safety standards. What You'll Do (Role Responsibilities): Production Leadership (30%): Lead daily production teams across Mix & Grind, Stuffing, Packing, and Packaging; assign and reassign employees to maintain workflow efficiency and reduce downtime. Equipment Operation (15%): Support the workflow by operating grinders, mixers, stuffers, and other relevant production machinery as needed; report maintenance issues immediately. Quality Control & Food Safety (15%): Monitor product weights every 30 minutes, verify label accuracy, and ensure all products meet strict company specifications. Sanitation & End-of-Shift Procedures (15%): Ensure proper breakdown, cleaning, and sanitation of machinery and work areas before shift completion. Training & Staff Development (10%): Train and coach new hires on equipment safety, food handling procedures, and performance expectations. Material Readiness (10%): Ensure all casings, ingredients, and packaging materials are prepared for current and next-day production. Continuous Improvement (5%): Identify workflow bottlenecks and communicate clear updates regarding staffing, equipment, and production concerns to the leadership team. What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
Experience:
Prior leadership, team lead, or lead-operator experience in food manufacturing is strongly preferred .
Industry Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of food safety policies, sanitation procedures, and regulatory requirements (FDA/USDA environment).
Technical Skills:
Ability to operate, or quickly learn to operate, grinders, stuffers, mixers, and relevant production machinery. Experience in multi-step sausage production is a major plus!
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to train and coach a diverse team. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a strong plus.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Must be comfortable working in a cold room environment (approximately 40°F). Requires prolonged standing and physical activity on the production floor. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring quick decision-making.
