POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor plays a key role in a growing organization. They are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the production floor to attain goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost in their assigned shift. They will seek to become a subject matter expert in the areas they oversee, and they will be a driver for continuous improvement in the shop.
POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure that the employees have a safe working environment. Assist in maintaining EHS standards. Complete shift handovers Learn and maintain an in-depth understanding of all production processes and ensure compliance with work standards. Regularly monitors production levels and triggers appropriate action for gaps. Work with support functions to prioritize and execute workflows. Seeks continuous improvement opportunities and eliminates waste. Seeks to make problems more visible. Sets daily priorities and production expectations for assigned shift. Reviews reasons for exceeding or missing targets and provides feedback to the team. Plan and organize team tasks. Manage attendance, personnel, and team member performance standards. Define training and development needs for team members. Mentor and develop line leaders as needed. Complete performance evaluations for direct reports. Participates in the recruitment of team members. Promotes lean thinking and behaviors. Attends production meetings and reports on relevant metrics and activities. Ensures all employees are treated with respect. Maintains the factory is kept in a clean and organized manner. Champion 5S initiatives. Communicate and escalate issues and events up and down the chain of command. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to select, develop, and motivate people. Strong environmental, safety and health background Working knowledge of an effective maintenance support function. Effective interpersonal skills
