Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)
Springfield, MA Full-time Full-time Job Summary and Essential Functions:
The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Job duties to include but are not limited to; Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs. § Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area. § Interprets specifications, prints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. § Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines according to work orders. § Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. § Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications. § Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. § Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. § Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. § Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. § Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. § Maintains time and production records. § Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times. § Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 10-50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. § Ability to read, write and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. § Ability to effectively present information to peers and management. § Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. § Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. § Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. § Must be able to communicate effectively. § Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. § Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. § Must have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software, MS Office software to include Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. § Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three to five year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Work Environment:
§ Working conditions are 25% office and 75% manufacturing environment. § Safety glasses are required in manufacturing area. § Safety steel-toed shoes are required in designated areas on the manufacturing floor. § Hearing protection is required in designated areas on the manufacturing floor. § The noise level that the employee is exposed to is moderate. , Medical, Dental and 401k benefits are available.
