2-11pm ESTSalary range: up to 100k DOEPosition OverviewLead the second shift injection molding team to meet production, quality, and safety goals for a high-volume plastics manufacturing environment. This role oversees day-to-day molding operations, enforces ISO9001 andISO 13485
requirements, drives continuous improvement in cycle times and scrap reduction, and ensures on-time delivery to schedule while developing and coaching hourly personnel.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate all activities for the second shift injection molding operations, including machine set-up, production runs, and changeovers.
Ensure product quality and compliance with ISO 9001 and
ISO 13485
standards; maintain accurate documentation and support internal and external audits.Manage shift staffing, training, performance reviews, and development of operators and technicians; enforce safety policies and company procedures.
Monitor production schedules and KPIs (yield, cycle time, scrap, OEE); take corrective action to meet customer delivery commitments.
Troubleshoot molding issues (melt, part defects, machine alarms) and collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime and implement preventive maintenance.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives (5S, SMED, root cause analysis) to improve throughput, reduce waste, and lower costs.
Coordinate material handling, inventory control, and communication with receiving, quality, and downstream operations.
Prepare shift reports, maintain production records, and communicate handover information to day/third shift supervisors.
Enforce environmental health and safety requirements, conduct safety audits, and lead incident investigations and corrective action.
Participate in new product introductions, process validations, and capability studies as needed.
Qualifications3+ years of hands-on injection molding experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, machine controls, and molding defects troubleshooting.
Familiarity with plastics manufacturing best practices and standards, including ISO 9001 and
ISO 13485
compliance requirements.Demonstrated experience managing 2nd shift operations, scheduling, and meeting production targets.
