Job Description

This position is for an individual who enjoys working with other employees in a challenging role to make quality paper at a competitive cost. It also allows for personal growth both as a leader and in technical areas of paper manufacturing. The person in this role is integral to the overall success of Paper Machine as well as the Somerset Mill and is a key member of the management team. As a key member of the Paper Machine team, you will lead safety initiatives that ensure an accident-free and safe workplace. You will lead your team's efforts to deliver machine productivity goals at low cost, meet all environmental regulations and continuously improve operational efficiency. You will manage the day-to-day operations and lead the shift crew with effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork and administrative skills to meet site objectives. You will work in conjunction with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment uptime, reliability and asset life in your area of responsibility. Performance Objectives Meet or exceed departmental safety and environmental objectives. Meet or exceed targeted paper production, quality, and cost of manufacture goals. Manage a diverse, highly skilled workforce in a team-oriented, self-directed environment to meet the business needs of the organization. Develop good working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization in both operations and maintenance departments.
Entry requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or another related engineering field, or equivalent 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated ability to achieve results through people Strong Safety Leadership
