Job Description

Plant Superintendent General Summary :
The Die Tryout Foreman's main responsibility is to safely manage all personnel and operations within the Die Tryout/Pressroom Department. This includes directing and coordinating all departmental activities.
Specific duties involve:
Assigning responsibility for specific tasks within the department, either directly or by delegating through team leaders. Providing work direction, resolving operational issues, coordinating shifts, and setting deadlines to ensure the timely completion of all work. The Foreman is expected to strive toward completing tasks with quality craftsmanship, on time, and within budgeted hours.
Position Responsibilities:
Understands the ATC Die Build Process, and actively to seeks to improve it. Supports the Scheduling Manager and Project Managers with projections of capacity and delivery promises on new work. Understands Customer Die Buyoff requirements and works towards accomplishing the buyoff with in the quoted hours. Works with Project Managers to identify all legitimate, chargeable, hours due to labor required that is outside the original scope. Oversee and coordinate activities of tryout workers, including schedule shifts and delegating tasks. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and company policies, ensuring a safe and clean work environment. This includes training on the safe use of machinery and gear. Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality standards and ensure finished products meets required specifications. Provide training and mentorship to new and existing staff to enhance their skills and performance. Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, which may include troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and coordinating with the maintenance department for repairs. Monitor material and supply levels, manage inventory, and ensure adequate resources and staffing are available to meet production schedules. Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation regarding output, quality, and any incidents. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and quality assurance, to implement process improvements and enhance overall operational excellence. Responsible for reviewing, and approving time tickets for team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of production processes, equipment, and materials used in the specific industry is required. The ability to read GD&T, drawings, specs, and work instructions. Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills to motivate a diverse team. Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey instructions clearly, report status, and collaborate with various departments. Computer basics, Email.
Excel, Word Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time hourly position ranging between 40 - 56 hours per week based on workload. Regular work week is Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are scheduled based on workload of the shop.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a shop floor environment. This role routinely uses large and small machines and tools throughout the shop floor.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Certified Journeyman Die Maker or have minimum 10 years in the trade.
