VP of Operations Lakeside Surfaces, a leading countertop and stone fabrication manufacturer in Muskegon, Michigan, is hiring an experienced 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our overnight manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a results-driven production professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about safety, quality, efficiency, and team development. As a Production Supervisor, you will direct day-to-day plant operations, drive key production KPIs, coach and develop your team, and ensure every product meets or exceeds our quality standards. What You'll Do Production & Operations Leadership Lead the planning, coordination, and daily operation of overnight manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced efficiently and to spec. Supervise hourly direct and indirect labor across the production floor. Stay forward-thinking by anticipating upcoming projects and complex jobs that will affect resources, staffing, and scheduling. Participate in the daily 8:00 AM production meeting (shift handoff) to review Safety, Quality, and Delivery, and set the plan for the day. Quality & Continuous Improvement Continuously improve the quality system to meet customer expectations and maximize productivity. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production operations. Champion 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient plant that is always customer-ready. Team Leadership & Development Maintain, lead, select, and train staff, creating developmental growth opportunities for your team. Cross-train employees to build maximum production flexibility. Communicate the company's vision and values and foster a culture of accountability and ownership. Demonstrate humble leadership that fosters the growth and development of employees and teams. Maintenance, Budgeting & Cross-Functional Collaboration Maintain an emphasis on proactive, preventative machine maintenance to maximize machine uptime and safety. Ensure equipment operation through regularly scheduled maintenance using calibration control system software. Ensure production facility maintenance is performed in accordance with company standards. Partner with the VP of Operations to develop and implement the yearly operating budget, including cost-down initiatives and capital expenditure (cap ex) needs. Communicate effectively across departments and with managers to ensure organizational goals are met or exceeded. Safety Ensure the team operates safely and follows all Lakeside safety program guidelines. Reinforce a culture where safety is a top operational priority on every shift. What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications) Proven, humble leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to foster employee and team growth. 5+ years of experience in production management or a related production leadership role. Proven track record of managing and delivering production results. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and resolve problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget. Ability to create and manage production budgets. Demonstrated ability to use technology to improve work efficiency. Preferred Qualifications Experience in countertop manufacturing, stone fabrication, building materials, or a related industry. Prior experience supervising a 2nd or 3rd shift / overnight manufacturing team. Experience attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and maintaining professional and technical networks. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to move and carry substantial parts across varied surfaces. Ability to operate a crane and a forklift. Ability to follow all safety requirements. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing facility with various types of equipment. Ability to work in production areas that may be wet or damp.
