Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a driven and experienced Production Supervisor to lead production operations at our Whitehall Casting facility, with opportunities available on 2nd and 3rd shift schedules . This role is responsible for overseeing a unionized workforce during off-shift operations, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with our high-quality standards. You will play a critical role in supervising personnel, enforcing safety protocols, maintaining compliance with labor agreements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Development Supervise, coach, and develop a diverse team of hourly production employees. Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and handle disciplinary actions as needed. Manage staffing levels, overtime, time-off requests, and shift scheduling. Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Mentor and support the development of new supervisors. Operations & Production Oversee off-shift production activities to meet daily and weekly output targets. Coordinate workflow and labor across departments to maintain production efficiency. Review operational data and resolve issues related to quality, downtime, or resource constraints. Support inventory control and ensure accuracy in production reporting. Safety, Compliance & Labor Relations Enforce all EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) policies and procedures. Respond to and investigate incidents or emergencies. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. Act as a liaison between management and union representatives; address grievances professionally. Continuous Improvement Lead and support initiatives related to Lean, 6S, TPM, Kaizen, and the Alcoa Business System (ABS). Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase quality. Facilitate audits and drive compliance with operational best practices. QualificationsBasic Requirements High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available). Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising in a unionized, industrial manufacturing setting. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools such as TPM, Synchronous Manufacturing, and Kaizen. Strong communication and organizational skills; able to lead teams through change. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP and timekeeping systems preferred. Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
