Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Anodize Supervisor will demonstrate Douglas Leadership Qualities while leading, supervising, and directing all personnel in the Anodize Department. This person will work closely and cooperatively with the Director, Production Manager, internal customers, and external customers on a daily basis to ensure that production, lead time, safety, and quality goals are achieved.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following.

Work with other supervisors and external customers to adjust schedules as required.

Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing, educating, and coaching employees to follow all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Has knowledge of all company policies and regulations (ex: OSHA) and assures that they are properly implemented.

Work with internal customers, external customers, sales, Production Manager, and the Director to develop and implement quality standards.

Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures. Facilitate problem solving efforts, identify root causes, implement solutions, audit and report results to the Production Manager.

Monitor and manage scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Work with other supervisors to adjust schedules as required. Report production, safety, quality, and lead time results to Production Manager.

Train employees and facilitate goal oriented continuous improvement processes to reduce waste and improve processes (Processes include, but are not limited to: QBQ, Work Flow Analysis, Lean and 5S techniques).Develop proactive working relationships with all other departments to address shared problems and generate "win-win" solutions.

Participate in the development of new policies or revision of existing policies when necessary.

Handle all disciplinary issues within scope of responsibility. Document unacceptable employee behavior, recommend discipline. Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing, educating, and coaching employees to follow all company safety policies and procedures. Has knowledge of all company policies and regulations (ex: OSHA) and assures that they are properly implemented.

Interview candidates and select personnel for possible positions.

Communicate with internal and external customers in an articulate, respectful, and professional manner. Promote positive communications (use QBQ methods) between management, internal customers, external customers, and fellow employees.

Lead by example; must be positive, consistent, impartial, and fair with all employees and demonstrate consistent enforcement of all company policies and standards.

Assign tasks and delegates responsibilities in an equitable, predictable and reliable manner according to the skill level of the individual employees.

Complete and conduct employee performance review process for assigned employees in a timely manner. Develop improvement plans as needed, recommend merit increases.

Recommends, develops and implements approved policies systems and procedures for improving the efficiency of the department. Audit processes (SOP's, Lean, 5S, etc.), documentation, and personnel to ensure that the correct procedures are being followed.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; 2 yr degree or higher in any applicable field preferred.

Prefer 3 + years' experience in a supervisory role with hourly direct reports in a manufacturing, production, or service environment.

Experience with Work Flow Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and 5S techniques preferred.

Experience with safety programs (Lock-Out Tag-Out, Confined Space Entry, Fork Truck Safety, Hoist Inspections, etc.) preferred.

Experience in the Anodize process preferred.
