Sheet Metal Foreman 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 30183 State Highway 34, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501 $35 - $45 an hour Herzog Roofing 2 reviews $35 - $45 an hour Position Summary The Sheet Metal Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating field crews to install, fabricate, and maintain sheet metal systems safely, efficiently, and to specification. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership & Supervision Lead, manage, and direct sheet metal crews on job sites Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity targets are met Train, mentor, and develop crew members Enforce company policies, safety standards, and quality expectations Project Execution Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Plan and coordinate work to meet project schedules and deadlines Ensure proper installation of sheet metal systems (HVAC, roofing, flashing, ductwork, etc.) Identify and resolve field issues proactively Quality Control Inspect work to ensure it meets company and industry standards Maintain high workmanship standards across all installations Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure seamless execution Safety Management Enforce OSHA and company safety policies at all times Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses Ensure proper use of PPE and fall protection systems Report and document incidents as required Material & Equipment Management Coordinate material deliveries and verify accuracy Track and manage tools and equipment on-site Minimize waste and control job costs Communication Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews and management Provide daily updates on job progress, labor, and any issues Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and other trades Qualifications 5+ years of experience in sheet metal or related field Prior leadership or foreman experience preferred Strong knowledge of sheet metal systems, tools, and installation methods Ability to read and interpret construction documents Solid understanding of safety practices and OSHA regulations Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work on roofs or ladders for extended periods Work Environment Primarily outdoor construction sites Exposure to varying weather conditions Fast-paced, physically demanding environment What Success Looks Like in This Role Jobs are completed safely, on time, and within budget Crew members are productive, accountable, and improving Minimal rework due to high-quality installations Strong communication with management and clients Clean, organized, and efficient job sites
