In this role, you'll take ownership of operations during supervisor absences, ensuring production and cooler processes run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety standards. When not providing coverage, you'll contribute to environmental health and safety (EHS) initiatives on 1st shift, helping drive a culture of safe, responsible operations across the plant. This position reports to the Director, Plant Manager.
Shift:
Must be willing to work 1st & 2nd shift work schedule Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assign work and provide clear direction to operation employees. Ensure the facility is flowing smoothly, and all daily goals are met. Supervise production scheduling so appropriate quantities and varieties of product are produced to fill orders, meet demand, meet productivity goals, etc. Oversee production and cooler activities to ensure that plant production and quality standards are met. Monitor the equipment used in facility processes to ensure it is functioning efficiently, is properly cleaned, and sanitized. Communicate equipment failures to the maintenance department and ensure completion of repairs. Engage with employees through shift meetings and informal conversations, providing support and guidance to help cultivate positive and productive working relationships. Effectively apply work rules, union contract provisions (if applicable), and employment policies. Administer discipline consistently and fairly. Develop and implement effective safety programs for the identification, prevention, and control of injuries such as health and safety education and training programs. Perform regular assessments of operational areas for hazards; assist the management team and line organization in identifying hazards, developing job hazard analyses (JHA's) and safe operating procedures for all tasks. Develop and implement audit programs to review and certify compliance with applicable health and safety standards. Support management in investigating workplace incidents, identifying root causes, creating incident review presentations, presenting the investigation, and developing corrective actions. Understand and fulfill the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local health regulations for food safety and quality.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Manufacturing or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education). 2 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or related experience coupled with demonstrated leadership attributes or team leadership experience; supervisor experience preferred. Experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing preferred. Certification and/or License•may be required during course of employment.
