Job Description

Production Lead 3:30pm-2:00am (4 days a week) St Croix Linen - St Paul, MN The Production Lead has to lead a multi-shift manufacturing team. The Production Lead will help set the production schedule to meet customer demand and efficiency goals. The goals will be met by applying effective operations while keeping costs low and utilizing knowledge of linen technology, production methods, procedures, and capabilities of equipment. The Production Lead will help develop and use production data and key metrics to track, report and improve KPIs (efficiency, safety, labor, reduce waste, etc.). The Production Lead will bring a fresh, creative, and energetic perspective to St Croix Linen and make a huge difference in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Roles & Responsibilities
  • Able to manage, lead, motivate, and mentor in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining flexibility.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Able to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Responsible for production staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of employees and help conduct annual performance reviews. Recognize employees for exemplary performance and support development activities for employees needing improvement.
  • Takes the lead in identifying performance issues and providing guidance, coaching, and progressive discipline as needed. Strong hands-on management style.
  • Communicates production issues with the Production Manager and General Manager such as incoming linen problems, finished product issues, and equipment malfunctions as well as quality control and maintenance.
  • Provides leadership to all areas on the production floor and insures a productive and engaged workforce. Dependable, and leads by example.
  • Works with the Production Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate the production activities in the plant and ensures labor standards are met daily.
  • Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements
  • 3-5 years production supervisor or manager experience.
  • Experience managing 30+ employees daily and multiple production lines across 7 days a week schedule.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with customer focus.
  • Highly motivated, proactive thinker with integrity and strong ethics.
  • Exceptional computer skills with emphasis in MS office
  • Knowledge of various government regulations (OSHA, FDA, etc.).
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills.
Physical Demands The Production lead must interact with team members and may be required to stand, bend/stoop, squat, twist trunk, lift up to 60 lbs. with help, climb heights, reach, push/pull. Must be able to go up/down a set of stairs several times each shift.
