Education, Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations A two (2) year technical or higher degree is preferred. Machining certificate or minimum one (1) year production machining experience is required. Valid driver license is required. Experience Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience is preferred. One (1) year of manufacturing experience is required. Forklift experience is preferred. Specialized Knowledge and Skills

- Physical stamina Essential Duties 1.
PRD-FM-060
Worklist priorities to plan the workload of the departmental personnel according to priorities set by Production. This plan is to be in place at the beginning of the shift and monitored and updated throughout the shift. a. Create daily work lists for 2nd shift personnel. 2. Meet the production schedule through efficient utilization of the available resources in the department. a. Personnel, equipment, tools, etc. b. Utilize thePRD-FM-060
Worklist and Active Employee Report and/or employee tracking software. 3. Create or review work instructions for completeness and accuracy. If not complete and accurate, work with operators and forward changes or additions to Production. a. Manufacturing dimensions b. Machine settings c. Operation details d. How to run parts 4. Oversee development of machining processes. a. Work with the Tool & Die Department to develop fixtures. 5. Ensure all material, tooling, fixtures, dies, and other necessary items are at or near the workstation and in good condition prior to the beginning of an operation. a. Operators should never have to look for components for a manufacturing order. 6. Ensure all excess material and any other items pertaining to a completed operation are moved to their proper storage locations following the completion of an operation. 7. Maintain non‐inventoried departmental supplies and requisition as necessary. a. Ensure prudent use of supplies. b. Monitor the inventory of componentry and other supplies. c. Forward Traveling Requisitionsto Purchasing when necessary. 8. Suggest and aid in departmental improvements to ensure part compliance, increased productivity, increased quality, and cost reductions. 9. Implement quality improvement programs with the aid of Shop Floor Manager, Quality Control, and Engineering. 10. Working with the Engineers, Production Manager, and Shop Floor Manager, manage the list and priorities of departmental needs and improvements. 11. Troubleshoot and resolve fabricating issues in an efficient and timely manner. a. Notify Tool & Die of repairs to dies. b. Notify Maintenance of repairs to equipment. c. Update Production as needed. 12. Monitor parts moving through the department. 13. Advise the Shop Floor Manager of inventory discrepancies and aid in resolving inventory‐related issues. 14. Ensure departmental personnel meet or exceed production standards. When production standards are not met, provide a valid explanation to Shop Floor Manager, and initiate corrective action. a. After exhausting options within and between departments, immediately notify Production if the production schedule cannot be met. 15. Ensure proper training of departmental personnel in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies. Training also includes cross training of departmental employees. a. Each position should have a minimum of one (1) backup employee who is fully capable of fulfilling job duties. 16. Ensure all departmental personnel are busy performing productive work for the entire shift. a. Operators should never have to look for work. b. If there are times of no work, the Shop Floor Manager has a list of additional needed work. 17. Direct the daily activities of the Machining Specialist. 18. As time allows, run production per work orders. a. Fill in as operator when the full-time operator is absent. b. Fill in as operator when the operator position is open. c. Meet and/or exceed production goals. 19. Evaluate departmental personnel. Give praise or take corrective action when appropriate. a. Complete performance evaluations, includingHRM-FM-011
Machining 90-Day Probationary Period Review, and submit records to the Shop Floor manager. 20. Review, and approve or deny, employee time off requests usingHRM-FM-040
Time Off Request slips. a. Consider employee workload and PPT/PST balance. b. Give completed slips to Shop Floor Manager for further review. 21. Review, correct, and approve employee jobs and hours in the computer system. Via email, notify Shop Floor Manager and Human Resources of employee shift changes. 22. Follow all company and safety policies, guidelines, and rules. a. Monitor the department for safety issues and enforce existing safety standards. 23. Follow all quality standards. a. Look for quality concerns on parts and work with Quality Control to ensure the quality of parts produced by departmental personnel. As necessary, assist Quality Control with inspections. b. Quality is the responsibility of everyone, not just Quality Control. 24. Maintain a clean and organized work area. a. Ensure department personnel are maintaining clean and organized work areas. b. Ensure all part containers (tubs, pans, racks, etc.) are properly tagged, including the removal of old tags. 25. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. a. Monitor department personnel attendance and address absenteeism as necessary. 26. Stay focused and on task with minimal supervision. 27. Work in a fast-paced environment. 28. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment Industrial manufacturing environment. Facility is enclosed, ventilated, and heated but not air conditioned. Safety‐toe footwear and safety eyewear are required. Hearing protection required in mandated areas. Gloves or other PPE as needed. Physical Demands This position spends long periods of time standing or sitting while working on a computer. Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and reaching will be required for additional duties. Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and occasionally position heavier material with the aid of lifting devices. Generally requires clear vision for reading blueprints, instructions, precision measuring instruments, and computer tasks. Schedule Full time. First shift 5:30 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday through Thursday. Overtime may be required. Travel Rarely. Some travel may be required for training.
