Charles, MO Position Summary:
The Quality Technical Supervisor oversees the organization's manufacturing and engineering processes, ensuring the proper use of tools, materials, and procedures. This role works closely with the Quality team to develop, implement, and maintain standards for manufactured products across all Craftsmen business verticals, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. This work environment is dynamic and versatile in nature. This role requires a high level of adaptability, as daily tasks and priorities may shift based on the evolving needs of the day. The ability to pivot and manage changing responsibilities is essential to success in this position. Promote and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA standards, company safety policies, and proper use of PPE, while proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards. Ensure proper training and adherence to safety and quality protocols across all business units. Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards and procedures for manufacturing and assembly processes in compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100. Supervise and mentor Quality Inspectors, providing guidance on inspections, testing, and compliance activities. Work with department leadership and production staff to implement quality measures, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place and training mechanisms are effective. Teach, coach, and instruct personnel across various departments to reinforce quality standards and best practices. Inspect material, equipment, processes, and products are adequate to ensure that customer requirements are met. Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Lead internal audits and assist in external audits to ensure ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, quality reports, and compliance activities. Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills:
High school diploma with a minimum of 3+ years conducting quality inspections in industrial manufacturing, construction, or a related environment. 2+ years of supervisory experience. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to address production and quality issues as they arise. Demonstrated strong ethics, integrity, and interpersonal skills. Mechanical and equipment troubleshooting experience; ability to use a wide range of mechanical measuring devices, ideally with familiarity in electrical measurement and validation tools. Experience leading, motivating, and inspiring teams to embrace a quality-focused culture. Strong math skills with the ability to perform statistical analysis and technical calculations. Willingness to offer solutions and ideas to upper management that can improve company profitability and quality. Experience working directly with customers to help resolve issues both onsite and at offsite locations. Able to adjust work schedules, prioritize and reassign tasks, and modify production methods as needed, with availability to respond to customer and colleague communications outside normal working hours. Valid state driver's license and a clean driving record. Demonstrate safe driving practices while driving company vehicles or when driving your personal vehicle on behalf of the company. Consistent and stable work history with strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications College degree or credentials in a quality-related field, or formal certifications in testing and quality control. Experience in an ISO 9001 and AS9100 environment. Prior experience in a skilled trade. Basic understanding of Military or ISO Quality Management Systems. Electrical, electronic training, machinist, fabrication and/or welding training or skills. CWI - Certified Weld Inspector.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to position self on top of, around or under metal frames or vehicles. Ability to travel to inspection/test sites outside the main plant or manufacturing facility. Ability to function effectively in outdoor exposed environmental conditions and cope with the rigors of a typical manufacturing plant. Capable of occasionally ascending and descending on a ladder. Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead. Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection. Willingness to travel to customer or supplier sites, as needed.
