Job Description
Supervisor-Green End (Lumberton) Idaho Forest Group United States, Mississippi, Lumberton 115 Old Highway 11 (Show on map) May 15, 2026
Description What You'll Do As a Sawmill Supervisor, you will lead the team responsible for daily operations in the log yard/merch, sawmill, and filing room. You'll set the tone for safety, drive production performance, and support a culture where people work hard, work smart, and look out for one another.
- Lead with Safety
- Model safe work practices, ensure compliance with JSAs, and respond proactively to hazards and incidents.
- Guide Daily Operations
- Oversee production, quality, scheduling, and inventory to keep the mill running efficiently.
- Develop and Support Your Team
- Train, coach, evaluate, and mentor employees; help new hires understand IFG's expectations and culture.
- Partner Across Departments
- Work closely with QC and maintenance to identify issues, plan repairs, and improve processes utilizing AI technologies
- Drive Continuous Improvement
- Analyze up-time, identify opportunities, and support long-term operational improvements.
- Ensure Accurate Administration
- Review and approve timecards and maintain accurate documentation.
- Support Production & Budget Goals
- Align daily operations with department targets and sales needs. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory and leadership experience
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- 2+ years of wood processing experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with manufacturing machinery and safety protocols
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work nights or weekends as needed
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test, post-offer physical, and background check Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements, LOTO procedures, and SOPs
- Experience with 5S methodology or Lean Six Sigma methodology
- Experience with QC/QA programs
- Valid driver's license Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
- Occasional lifting over 50 lbs.
- Constant hand use for clerical tasks
- Correctable near/far vision and adequate hearing for machinery awareness Work Environment
- Exposure to all weather conditions
- Loud noise levels and airborne particles (e.g., sawdust)
