Job Description:
2nd Shift - Production Lead Beaming Dept. (or Calender) department is a front-line supervisor responsible for overseeing the preparation of tire cord/fabric. They lead shift teams, enforce safety protocols, manage raw material inventory, and ensure tire fabric plies meet exact quality specifications before they reach the tire-building machines.
Core Responsibilities Team Leadership & Scheduling:
Assign daily duties to beaming/calendering operators, coordinate shift handoffs, and manage breaks to ensure 24/7 continuous production flow.
Quality Control:
Conduct visual and automated inspections of fabric plies, rubber coatings, and cord tension to prevent defects. Ensure compliance with strict manufacturing standards.
Machine Set-up & Troubleshooting:
Assist operators in setting up, adjusting, and threading textile/steel cords through creels and calender rolls. Troubleshoot minor mechanical faults before calling maintenance.
Material Management:
Track raw material usage (rubber, steel, and synthetic cords), ensure machines are adequately stocked, and minimize production scrap.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce PPE usage, conduct hazard and equipment safety audits, and promote a culture of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
