Job Title:
Powder Coat Supervisor Job Description The Powder Coat Supervisor leads a team of powder coaters in a fast-paced industrial production environment, ensuring high-quality finishes, safe operations, and consistent achievement of daily production targets. This role oversees the full powder coating process, from equipment setup and maintenance to quality control and safety compliance, while fostering a positive and accountable team culture. Responsibilities Supervise and manage a team of approximately 12 powder coaters, providing day-to-day leadership, training, guidance, and performance evaluations. Schedule and assign work to team members to ensure timely completion of production targets, including the expectation of completing 10 truck bodies per shift. Maintain a positive, productive, and accountable work environment that supports high performance and teamwork. Monitor the powder coating process to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes that meet established standards. Conduct regular inspections and tests of coated products to verify quality and adherence to specifications. Identify and implement corrective actions for any quality issues, ensuring root causes are addressed and prevented. Oversee the setup and operation of powder coating equipment to ensure proper use and optimal performance. Ensure regular maintenance and calibration of powder coating equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Optimize coating processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement in throughput and quality. Enforce safety protocols and promote safe work practices across the powder coating area. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and relevant industry standards related to powder coating operations. Conduct safety training and regular safety audits to identify hazards, reinforce safe behaviors, and maintain a safe workplace. Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and quality control teams to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and support smooth operations. Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and management regarding priorities, production status, and process changes. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience in industrial powder coating operations. Hands-on experience with powder coat application and painting processes in a production environment. Proven ability to supervise and manage a production team, including task assignment, training, and performance feedback. Strong understanding of quality control practices for powder coating, including inspection and testing methods. Working knowledge of operating, setting up, and troubleshooting powder coating equipment. Ability to enforce and promote safety protocols in an industrial setting. Strong organizational skills to schedule work, manage priorities, and meet daily production targets. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear direction to staff. Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced production environment with a strong focus on accountability and performance standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience optimizing production processes to improve efficiency and reduce material waste. Familiarity with environmental regulations and industry standards related to powder coating and industrial finishing. Work Environment This position operates in an industrial, fast-paced production facility focused on powder coating truck bodies and related components. The work environment emphasizes high performance, with a strong focus on meeting daily production targets of approximately 10 truck bodies per shift. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. The role involves regular interaction with production, maintenance, and quality control teams, and requires working around powder coating equipment, industrial finishing systems, and related machinery in a safety-conscious setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dunn, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr. After 1 year of work they get 1 week of vacation and after 2 years of work they get 2 weeks of vacation. They match up to 3% in 401k and 50% match between 3%-5%. Holidays paid off except for Veterans, Presidents, MLK, and Juneteenth. Eligible for company uniforms and insurance after 90 days through United, colonial, Guardian Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Dunn,NC.
