- Must be able to supervise employees to ensure successful job performance by using strong leadership and development techniques and efficiently directing and coordinating sewing manufacturing operations
- Supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operating sewing machines to manufacture products according to set specifications including: standards of quality, cost, production, efficiency, and material waste control
- Training new employees in the use of single, multiple-needle, and automated sewing machines and demonstrating work methods and machine operation
- Being responsible for overseeing inventories to make sure proper supplies are on hand to meet production demands
- Selecting supplies, thread, labels, etc. according to work order specifications
- Examining products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to quality standards
- Assuring all products are first quality and shipped on time
- Communicating instructions, information, support, planning, and encouragement effectively to employees
- Being involved in addressing unacceptable performance through development and maintaining accountability systems
- Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals
- Ensuring the flow of materials and other resources
- Providing consistent hands-on support to the manufacturing team through mentorship, troubleshooting, development of process improvements
- Providing quality control of the product and quality enforcing supervision
- Having no problem working in a fast-paced environment where maybe doing something different every day
- Maintaining a clean and well-organized work area
- Having the ability to program and troubleshoot machines preferred
- Having experience in single, multiple-needle, and automated sewing
- Demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to improve and promote quality, performance, and continuous improvement in all area
- Being able to perform any additional tasks or assignments requested by your supervisor
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of good supervision of industrial manufacturing practices
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Self-motivated and efficient problem solver
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Experience with industrial sewing machines and ability to conduct possible minor machine adjustments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
