Job Description

Overview:
The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for leading and driving the daily operations of the Stockroom, machine operations, and metal fabrication at Novia's Manchester Location. While overseeing all shop personnel, it is crucial that the Production Supervisor utilizes the Floor Lead to delegate tasks and to pass on information in a timely manner. It is essential that this position ensures production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and health and safety procedures are followed. In this role, it is expected that you lead from the front: Spend a portion of each day on the floor, directly assisting with welding, fabrication, and machine operation to ensure we hit our deadlines. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Act as the main liaison for communication for information transfer to and from Manchester & Salem locations. Day-to-day organization and scheduling of production activities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity, while meeting monthly and annual budgets. Optimize shop floor flow to eliminate bottlenecks, ensure equipment uptime, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Oversee and coordinate the work of production employees, ensuring that schedules are met, and quality standards are maintained. Coordinate with other departments such as engineering, operations, and logistics to ensure seamless production operations. Maintain accurate production records and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Train and supervise production staff to ensure that they understand their roles, responsibilities, and work effectively as a team. Enforce health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Assist in identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement to increase efficiency and profitability. Perform other duties as needed to ensure the company meets goals and deadlines.
Quality Control:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality control measures to ensure production meets or exceeds industry standards.
Process Optimization:
Working with the larger team, continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction while maintaining product quality.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate production records, including sales orders, production orders, and employee performance records.
Problem Solving:
Working with the larger team, address and resolve production-related issues, such as equipment breakdowns, material shortages, and quality concerns, in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in engineering or business administration is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment, with some supervisory experience. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team. Knowledge of production processes and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Other Information:
