Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Production Supervisor for our first shift to to supervise production and packaging operations during assigned shifts by ensuring efficient manufacturing performance, product quality, accurate work order execution, and compliance with GMP, safety requirements, and company procedures, while maintaining effective oversight of staff and supporting continuous operational improvement. Spanish Speaking a plus Responsibilities GMP / Quality Responsibilities Initiate, accurately prepare and run the packaging operation against the approved standards and customer specifications in a timely manner, in accordance with the production plan and to produce quality product. Ensure the correct lot code and expiry for each work order assigned is accurately identified on the labeling. Initiate label requests for each work order and perform first piece approval with QA. Perform finished product first piece approval for each new work order. Work closely with the Inventory Control Department (staging) to ensure adequate materials are available at each work center as needed for product manufacturing as well as other items needed for production floor such as cleaning materials, gowning supplies, etc. Coordinate the cleaning of production lines daily. Challenge work centers/ production line leaders to improve outputs and decrease labor. Supervise and train all personnel that are assigned to shift area and maintain accurate training records. Schedule all assigned permanent and temp employees based on production needs. Ensure/ train all new employees on work stations per documented instructions. Ensure/ train materials handlers to accurately supply all production lines as required as well as maintaining a clean facility. Evaluate staff and discuss performance reviews with Production Manager. Maintain current work center and facility documentation as required. Accurately assign labor per employee, per work station, per shift in order to ensure correct production statistic entry. Modify procedures, work instructions and forms as changes are needed. Maintain efficient outputs and be able to anticipate problems and be prepared to discuss and evaluate problems, which have prevented meeting set standards and outputs. Work closely with Production Support Departments to recognize and correct any and all machinery problems, as well Product Planners to schedule appropriate Preventive Maintenance with downtime on a machine as needed. Segregate and document non-conforming product and notify QA/QC. Report any unsafe acts or accidents to your manager. Report and document any accidents or human resource issue directly to the HR Dept. and Production Manager and assist in all investigations of such. Work hours, as needed, to support the production schedule; overtime may be required, however please note, the actual shift schedules may vary with different production lines. Assist with CAPA'S that pertain to the area of responsibility. Post accurate WO information to ensure that all employees assigned to the work center is aware of the requirements for the work order, such as the output requirements. Work closely with the Production Manager to support any tasks as needed. Safety Responsibilities Must have knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP), applying these standards in daily operations to ensure quality and compliance. Ability to analyze problems and present solutions. Ability to direct and supervise employees. Knowledge of cGMP Regulations. Able to Read, Write, and Speak English Understanding of inventory counting, LOT control, W/O Reconciliation Proficient in math, MS Work & Excel Great documentation practices. Spanish Speaking a plus Completion of Supervisory seminars a plus.
