Job Description
Join the Raytheon team supporting advanced manufacturing operations at the Raytheon Diné Facility in Farmington, NM. We are seeking a Production Supervisor (VSL) with experience supporting production, process improvement, and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment in a three shift operation. The Supervisor/VSL serves as the primary frontline leader within a production manufacturing environment and is responsible for the daily execution of manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Value Stream Manager (VSM), the VSL partners with a cross-functional team including Manufacturing Engineering, Production Test Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Production Control to safely deliver operational objectives. This role is accountable for executing production schedules, managing priorities, supporting continuous product flow, and leading direct labor teams to achieve performance targets related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The VSL provides direct supervision to hourly employees and supports manufacturing excellence through leadership, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. This position requires direct engagement with manufacturing operations and spending significant time in production environments. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting and be willing to support extended hours when business needs require. What You Will Do Lead daily manufacturing execution to meet production schedules, operational priorities, and delivery commitments. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the value stream to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance. Solve complex manufacturing challenges using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis tools. Directly supervise and develop a team of 20+ hourly employees. Collaborate and communicate effectively with upstream and downstream Value Stream Leaders and site leadership. Apply manufacturing knowledge and understanding of support functions to enable successful daily operations. Execute and sustain product-focused manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and test architecture. Provide performance input, coaching, mentoring, and career development support for hourly team members. Lead and support factory improvement efforts and manufacturing system initiatives. Assist with labor forecasting and Estimates at Complete (EAC) activities for direct labor resources. Execute priorities aligned to safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to support production schedules and business goals. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience; OR an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Experience in manufacturing and/or operations environments. Previous supervisory, team leadership, or managerial experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis. Must be willing to work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime. Qualifications We Prefer Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Experience leading and collaborating in cross-functional teams. Experience managing teams with production deadlines, deliverables, and operational requirements. Working knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering practices and quality systems. Experience supporting assembly, installation, testing, and manufacturing sequencing for production operations. Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and drive operational results.
