Shop Foreman - Metal Fabrication

About Us:

Shop Foreman (Metal Fabrication) A well-established metal fabrication facility is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Shop Supervisor to lead a team of 25+ skilled professionals . This role requires a deep understanding of structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication , including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum . The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading blueprints, layout, fitting, welding , and operating fabrication equipment across various materials such as sheet metal, plate, shapes, and pipe . About the Role As a Weld Shop Supervisor , you will be responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and adherence to project timelines. This is a leadership role that requires a balance of technical expertise and team management skills . We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and adaptable professional with a long-term vision for growth and stability. Key Responsibilities Lead and work alongside shop employees to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification. Provide technical guidance , including blueprint interpretation and job layout assistance. Collaborate with customers on prototype designs and fabrication solutions. Oversee and support shop personnel, ensuring workflow efficiency and maintaining high-quality standards. Make technical judgments and decisions regarding production processes and upcoming jobs. Communicate effectively with customers, shop personnel, sales teams, and management . Foster a positive and productive work environment , working with a diverse team. Report directly to the Operations Manager . Qualifications & Skills Extensive experience in metal fabrication and welding processes (steel, aluminum, stainless steel). Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Dual Shield welding techniques . Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and geometric tolerances . Solid understanding of shop equipment, materials, and fabrication processes . Effective leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and manage shop personnel. Strong math skills, including geometry and algebra , for accurate material calculations. Adaptability to a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Willingness to work flexible shifts and schedules based on project needs.
