Manufacturing Leadership Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Production Lead is a key member of the production team, responsible for overseeing daily Value Added Service operations and ensuring efficient and timely production of goods while working closely with the Production Manager and production coordinator. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills, with a focus on meeting production goals and maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring that all procedures and processes are being completed correctly and safely.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Daily Production:
  • Lead and supervise production team for assigned shift, designating tasks, monitoring progress, and addressing any challenges.
  • Ensure devotion to production schedule, projects and deadlines.
  • Monitor production quality and identify and resolve any quality and production issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Manage, maintain and oversee all labor for assigned shift.
Team Management:
  • Motivate and mentor team members (between 10-50 associates), providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve any conflicts.
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment.
  • Effectively communicate with production team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Provides accurate records of assembly, employee absenteeism, accidents.
Data tracking / Project management:
  • Monitor and track all production projects and progress utilizing required computer skills and literacy ensuring accuracy and completion of the data entered is correct in its entirety.
  • Maintain accurate and timely production records.
  • Prepare reports on production progress and performance.
Process Improvement and Assurance:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste when needed.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and learn the production departments practices. Quality Control & Quality assurance:
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the production process.
  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
Safety awareness and
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections and address any safety hazards.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Complies with all employment laws and reports any employee relations to human resources.
Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory for essential materials needed and finished goods.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Minimize inventory waste and optimize inventory levels.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Effectively communicate with production team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a production environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prefer experience running projects in a value added services area in a warehouse or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies a plus.
  • Fluent in writing, reading and speaking English (required), Bilingual candidate (Spanish) is supported and plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in a production and manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
