JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are built safely, efficiently, and on time while meeting VSE's quality standards and customer commitments. This role plays a key part in supporting a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. This position provides leadership across production activities, balancing customer priorities, employee development, safety, quality, and delivery performance. The Production Supervisor works closely with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and leadership teams to remove barriers, solve problems, and drive results while modeling VSE's core values of Humility, Curiosity, and Energy. Lead and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Ensure employees are properly trained, supported, and held accountable to company standards and expectations. Assign and prioritize work based on production schedules, staffing, materials, and operational demands. Identify production risks, capacity constraints, or schedule impacts early and communicate mitigation plans proactively. Partner with the Production Planner and cross-functional teams to manage schedule changes and customer priorities effectively. Monitor and drive performance against key operational KPIs, including on-time delivery, productivity, quality, rework, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment, using data to identify trends, improve performance, and support business objectives. Drive root cause problem solving and corrective actions related to missed deliveries, quality issues, and operational inefficiencies. Support standard work, process discipline, and adherence to manufacturing procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Foster respectful communication, collaboration, and professionalism across all levels of the organization. Lead with humility by supporting team success, curiosity by continuously seeking better ways to operate, and energy by creating an engaged, solutions-focused work environment. Lead by example through a hands-on, solutions-oriented leadership style. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or manufacturing education preferred. Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership, production supervision, or related operational experience. Experience in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing environments preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience working with production schedules, manufacturing metrics, KPI management, and operational problem-solving. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
