Job Description

Production SupervisorThis is an opportunity to join a well-established, growth-oriented food manufacturing company operating out of a modern production facility on Long Island. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence, the organization produces high-volume, branded food products distributed nationally. The company offers a collaborative, hands-on environment with opportunities for professional growth as the business continues to expand.

Position OverviewThe Production Supervisor leads day-to-day manufacturing and food production activities to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets. This role oversees production lines, equipment, materials handling, and team performance while ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA and company standards. The ideal candidate combines strong operational and manufacturing knowledge with hands-on leadership, training experience and a focus on continuous improvement and KPIs.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily production activities to achieve scheduled volumes, on-time delivery and productivity targets while maintaining product quality and food safety.

Lead, train and develop production staff, including onboarding, performance management, coaching and creating a positive safety-first culture.

Monitor and manage production KPIs (yield, throughput, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency) and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.

Ensure strict compliance with USDA, FDA and company food safety and regulatory requirements; support audits and maintain accurate production and sanitation records.

Manage operations related to materials flow, inventory accuracy, and proper storage practices to support continuous production.

Implement and enforce safety programs, PPE requirements and hazard controls; lead regular safety meetings and incident investigations.

Communicate production status, issues and improvement plans to operations management and cross-functional teams; prepare daily/weekly production reports.

QualificationsAssociate degree in Manufacturing, Food Science, Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

Progressive manufacturing or food production experience with experience in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of food manufacturing operations and regulatory requirements (USDA, FDA); prior experience in a USDA-regulated facility preferred.

Proven ability to lead teams, deliver training and develop front-line supervision skills; experience supervising 20+ employees preferred.

Hands-on experience with production equipment, machinery and materials handling; familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.

Demonstrated ability to use production metrics and KPIs to drive improvements (OEE, yield, scrap, throughput, labor efficiency).Certifications such as HACCP, ServSafe, OSHA 10/30, or equivalent are a plus.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable to support a diverse workforce and communicate across shifts.
