Job Summary :
The Production Supervisor is well-organized, has a great eye for detail, ability to analyze data, and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with Excel, Google, and SmartSheet forms. They may occasionally be called upon to work with warehouse production personnel to pack out and prepare jobs for shipment. Skill level requires moderately advanced computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. This position will require data entry, evaluation, and manipulation for planning Production Capacity and capabilities. The goal is to ensure that production does not overcommit or overextend resources, that we have an accurate idea of how many hours should be going toward each task, and that we track and evaluate Production performance based on the initial time allotment. This position will report to the Senior Operations Manager. Key Responsibilities 1.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
Work well within a team. Oversee established capacity planning process to ensure appropriate production scheduling is maintained. Assist the Senior Operations Manager with production planning and evaluation tasks. Perform preliminary assignment of tasks to production lines based on anticipated capacity. Able to understand complex BOMs and interpret them well enough to recognize and communicate potential issues that may arise during production. Maintain and improve capacity planning tools, including data entry to ensure all planning tools are current. Run time studies to estimate time required for current and future production activities. Effectively communicate with all levels of management. Assist with the development and implementation of high priority programs as needed. Alerts management of unsafe conditions in the warehouse. Other duties as assigned. 2. Requirements and Qualifications Familiarity with production techniques. Able to drive a sit-down forklift and a stand-up reach truck a plus. Able to compile and manipulate data for production coordination purposes. Willing to help within all areas on the production floor and other depts. • Knowledge of retail industry - preferred. • Some programing background a plus. 3.
Process Improvement:
Analyze departmental processes and protocols to identify areas for improvement for prepress operations. Maintain and improve strategies to increase efficiency, reduce errors and streamline operations. 4.
Communication:
Communicate with fellow associates to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Education, Certifications and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. 2-4 years equivalent work experience as a material handler a plus. 1-2 years supervisory experience. Work Environment This is a warehouse position in our Akron facility. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment. May require occasional overtime based on project timelines. Some lifting and material moving are required.
