Job Description

Welding Foreman Location:
Akron, OH Salary Range:
$50,000 - $80,000 per year Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Welding Foreman to join our client's team in Akron. This is a Direct Hire opportunity. As a key leader on the production floor, you will be responsible for managing and directing all production employees to ensure customer orders are met with precision and efficiency. You will report directly to the Assistant Plant Manager and play a vital role in maintaining a safe, high-quality manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Direct the workforce to meet customer needs and assign daily tasks to the production team.
Training & Development:
Train employees on machine operation and safety protocols to ensure peak performance.
Operational Support:
Pitch in with machine operation, rework, and other duties as needed, including supporting other departments to maintain workflow.
Conflict Management:
Utilize strong interpersonal skills to manage the workforce and maintain self-control under pressure while resolving workplace conflicts.
Quality & Inventory:
Monitor the quality of all parts produced and maintain strict inventory control.
Departmental Coordination:
Work with the Scheduling Department to prioritize production runs. Collaborate with Purchasing to order necessary parts and supplies for plant equipment. Coordinate with Outside Vendors for repairs and new projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Industry Experience:
Significant welding experience and technical knowledge are required.
Technical Proficiency:
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, computer systems, and PLC controls .
Automation:
Familiarity with automation equipment and efficient operating conditions.
Soft Skills:
Must be a self-starter with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
Working Conditions Safety First:
Perform all duties necessary to keep the department and the overall plant in a safe and efficient condition.
Flexibility:
Ability to assist in various departments and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $50,000.00 - $80,000.00
