JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Supervisor coordinates activities of workers in the production of batteries. Acts as management representative in interpreting company policy/procedures and enforcing safety regulations. Strives to achieve company goals in manufacturing.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for plant personnel in an emergency situation, such as: emergency siren for Fire or Tornado activation and testing, medical emergencies requiring EMS, weather emergencies, CPR and First Aid. 2. Establishes or adjusts work schedule to meet production requirement using knowledge of capacities of machines/equipment and available manpower. 3. Cooperates with staff, sales and scheduling to achieve desired quality and production goals. 4. Responsible for the control of quality of batteries produced, scrap loss and defect reduction. 5. Analyzes work problems and recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, working conditions and equipment usage to increase efficiency. Coordinates suggested change with Plant Superintendent to stay within corporate guidelines. 6. Monitors productivity and coordinates activities of departments/shifts. 7. Responsible for payroll and time allocations. 8. Delegates or performs training of new employees. 9. Responsible for housekeeping. 10. Must be willing to improve Management skills. 11. Safety of:
- Routine activities such as trip hazards, 5-S and tool care.
- Respirator use/requirements and Blood lead reduction.
- Accident prevention, reporting and investigation.
- Forklift Safety
- Pinch point identification 13.
Is also responsible for:
- Quality systems support and management
- Providing procedures and work instructions
- Providing adequate equipment and training
- Identifying and implementing continual improvement, corrective and preventive actions in assigned areas.
- Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
- Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to appropriate personnel
- Controlling nonconforming products
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions 14.
Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown quality system and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives. 15. Verify and post production paperwork.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The supervisor is accountable to the Assistant Superintendent of Manufacturing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Safety training
- 2- 4 years verifiablemanufacturing experience; or 1year Supervisory experience; or verifiable certifications (6-12 hours) in Industrial Supervision and 1 year manufacturing experience.
