Founded in 1956, Jamestown Container Companies is a privately owned company that has earned a reputation as an innovative, independent provider of high-quality corrugated products, consumer point of purchase displays, packaging supplies and fulfillment services for customers in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and southern Ontario. Our customers include many well-known local companies, as well as Fortune 100 companies. The Production Supervisor will lead their team by maximizing safety, quality, and efficiencies. This position will also be responsible for meeting daily production expectations and delivery dates and quality standards by directly managing their team. Is a Safety and Quality leader driving the plant with Continuous Improvement. Job Responsibilities Observes and coordinates activities of production workers in manufacturing product by performing the following duties personally or through the production team: Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, co-workers, supervisors/managers, and all other employees. Responsible for adhering to, and maintaining all
ISO 9001
procedures and requirements of the Production function and department. This includes having active participation in the internal and external audits for the Rochester division, when necessary. Inspects products to verify conformance to Quality Plan specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines. Enforces working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with company policy and safety standards. Resolves production issues or confers with the Supervisors, Plant Superintendent or Director of Manufacturing on unsettled grievances for action. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Involved in the employee performance review process and employee discipline as needed. Responsible for documenting all employee accidents reported and for following human resource and OSHA procedures regarding incident. Responsible for adhering to all company policy and safety regulations, including, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas. Performs all other duties as assigned by higher management.
